The taiga is a very large coniferous forest that is located near the top of the world, just below the tundra. Its exact location is between 50° North (latitude) and the Arctic Circle. It stretches across a very large portion of Canada, as well as Europe and Asia. This is the largest terrestrial biome in the world, as it makes up for 29% of the world's forest cover. The taiga is globally important because it holds a large majority of the world's filtered water, and it is home to many species of wildlife, as well as trees that give us oxygen.

The map above shows where the taiga is located, as well as the amount of land that the Taiga covers in correlation to how much land the other biomes cover. The taiga is shown in dark green. |
Some sights that you can see in the taiga are waterfalls, trees, wildlife, nature trails, and Rabbit Creek (Alaska), as well as other water sources.
Not only are there many sights to see in the taiga, but there is also a multitude of activities to do! For example, you can go camping, hiking, animal/wildlife watching, mountain biking, fishing, picnicking, and hunting.
