How animals survive in the Taiga?
A cold climate prevents many animals from living in the taiga year-round. Many animals migrate to warm areas in the winter to survive. Animals that live in the taiga during the winter months have adapted to life by hibernating when temperatures drop. Other animals that don't hibernate in winter months have produced a layer of insulation with their feathers or fur to protect them from the cold. Animals use their fur for protection against predators. For example an ermine, has a dark coat in the summer and changes to white in the winter. The coat helps the ermine blend into its surroundings and makes it difficult for predators to spot. |
The circle of life in the Taiga
What exactly does the circle of life mean? The meaning behind the circle of life is nature's way of taking and giving back life to earth. In the taiga, the circle of life is how animals survive and die. Animals eat each other for survival. There are also food chains in the taiga. One example of a food chain is: Shrub--->Mice--->Minks--->Hawk |
